A fanlisting (FL) is a non-profit, non-commercial online listing of all fans of a certain subject, mostly for entertainment purposes. In this case, this site is an FL for the TV character Bree van de Kamp-Hodge.

Why bother with a fanlisting? For website owners, a fanlisting serves the same function as any other listing -- more exposure for your site, since it gives you more backlinks, possibly improving your pagerank. For non-website owners, it's a fun way to immortalize your interests online. :) In other words, it's an innovative way to let everyone know that you like Bree; it's like a proclamation badge of your interests.

I've always had a soft spot for Bree (who is my absolutely FAVORITE housewife) and I would hate seeing her FL closed! I feel in love with Marcia Cross in this character. She's smart and beautiful and she reminds me a bit of my mom, who gave up her career to be a housewife. I think Bree is the greatest character example of the imperfections of a perfectionist, that despite her efforts at being very precise at everything she does, she still makes mistakes -- and that's what makes her the most human of all. Sure, she can rub people off the wrong way, with her tactful but sometimes brutal frankness, but most of the time, I find myself agreeing with her insights! I think her obsessive-compulsive behavior is adorable; she's such a quirky character I love to watch because she's very much who every mother/housewife would want to be: a great cook, a great homemaker, a caring friend, an award-winning writer, a wealthy husband -- yet still very much in tune with the human, fallible side. The more she convinces herself to strive for perfection at all times, the more we viewers realize how she really embodies the rest of our weaknesses and faults. MORE?»
